 Kelly J. Snyder, Manager/Trainer Blue Okie Kennels was started in 1968 by Leaveta Davis and was originally located in Oklahoma. Her goal was to produce full boned North American Shepherds (NAS) , often referred to as Miniature Australian Shepherds (mini aussie), with a temperament orientation towards family companionship. All breeding stock was kept in standards with a leaning towards the smaller end of the scale. Although Leaveta did not actively show her dogs, her puppies were well known as quality dogs. Leaveta passed away unexpectedly in 1997 and the kennels were purchased by Jerry and Ruthann Snyder of Lincoln, Nebraska. Leaveta's husband, Dave requested that the breeding stock be kept together and in remembrance of Leaveta, bear the name of Blue Okie Kennels. Honoring Leaveta's wishes, the kennel was kept intact and reestablished in Malcolm, Nebraska. Kelly J. Snyder has assumed managership of the kennels and it is our goal to maintain the high quality of the dogs as established by Leaveta Davis. Thru selective and careful breeding of our champion bloodlines we offer you top of the line show, breeding, working and/or companion quality puppies in all recognized colors. Breeding for quality, health, temperament and beauty with excellent champion bloodlines, we offer a guarantee of a healthy, quality puppy. Our manager, Kelly J. Snyder, has been training dogs as an amateur for over 20 years and was certified by the National K-9 School in December 1997. For an additional fee, your puppy or young dog can be partly or finished obedience trained prior to delivery. We provide professional training services for all breeds of dog, not just dogs purchased from Blue Okie Kennels.
